Yeah, sometimes they even disturb a surgeon who is waiting to save a child's life. Ungrateful rascals!

Johnny Bob you have a good forum of your own and I enjoy participating on it. I even posted a couple of mildly unappropriate words in a post and they were deleted. I appreciate that and find it refreshing that no swearing is allowed. And I will continue to take part in that forum, if permitted to. But you have a fixation on these helicopters that seems to border on mania. You state that the helicopters disturb 1000's of people daily but I have not read any other complaints, talked to anyone else that seems to be bothered nor seen any statictics (other than your own) that show that the noise level even approaches hazardous levels. I can see your point, although I disagree with it, about the leaf burning. I find it refreshing to smell leaves burning, not particularilly enjoyable, but refreshing. As with some of the other "button" issues, I can take the leave burning or do without it . You seem to be doing a good job of defending your position.

Helicopters are a major and unnecessary disturbance to the peace and quiet in Mt Vernon. That is a fact, and it won't go away, til they do. I have been campaigning to that end for over six years, and will continue til I die, or they go away. All who enjoy peace and quiet and abhor their constant noise are welcome to join me. Others, well, do whatever you will, but you can not influence me otherwise.

Please do not confuse this issue with other issues. This one is unique, and one of a kind!

Your persistent negativism has long been noted. The fact remains that low-flying helicopters are a serious noise problem in Mt Vernon and need to be banned from our city.

Do you have a solution for a replacement for emergency aeromedical evacuation should the helicopters become grounded?

What speedy resources are available to move critically injured individuals from an accident scene to a trauma center that is faster than an emergency airlift via helicopter?

Or are these copters just flying around willy nilly at night just be making noise? Aren't they providing a life saving service?

These helicopters are an intolerable assault on the sensitivity of Mt Vernon citizens, and the sooner they get out of town, the better. They're not wanted or needed here.

The noise polluiton and intolerable assault of the sensitivity of Mt. Vernon citizens exists nowhere other than in your head. The validity of a cause is normally determined by the number pursuing it. You seem to be an army of one in a battle of your own making.

Why are they flying low?

Why are they flying at night?

What is the reason these helicopters are in the Mt. Vernon area?

What service do they provide?

Do you live close to where they operate from? Is that the problem?

I asked several questions above to try to understand the situation about helicopters in the Mt. Vernon area.

JB did not answer any of those questions.

Does anyone know the answers?

I want to know why the helicopters are in Mt. Vernon and what service they provide.

Are the helicopters necessary?

Are they value providers or just noise makers?

Can viable alternatives to helicopters be found?

Instead of complaining, I wanted to hear some helicopter noise solutions from members of the forum.

Has anyone provided the politicians with alternative ideas that are as effective?

That is your opinion, JB and you are entitled to it. Fortunately, there are those who disagree with you and are willing to get off their behinds to make sure the helicopters keep flying.

Ok, I'll bite on this one.

JB is rightfully entitled to his opinions. But, JB, usually you have pretty good answers to the questions asked in reply. After all, it is a discussion forum. I think Atvar had some good questions in reply to your concerns about helicopter noise. I guess if mum's the word to those questions, that's your choice.

Maybe Atvar could start his own thread then... But honestly I would like to see your answers to some of his questions. They don't have to be long and information-intensive.

Atvar wrote:
Have you presented scientific facts to the city, county and state?
Are you writing your congressman and senators?

Are you being proactive politically to get the laws changed?

But, what are you doing about it other than posting and posting in these forums?

JB, I have not been a threat to you, vulgar to you, and I do not like personal attacks.

I do not have any "private/unstated agendas".

I am not spamming; I am only trying discover the facts surrounding the issue and possible solutions.

I have dealt, successfully on most counts, with many issues over the years, both in the USA and overseas. I want to lend a hand, if I am able.

I am only trying to identify the total problem with the helicopter (for this thread) noise.

As I am relatively new to this forum and the issues you have been fighting for 6 years, I just want to know and help, if I can.

What have you and your supporters accomplished to date on the helicopter issue?

Also, isn't this forum supposed to be a dialog of discussion? I am trying to discuss the issue with you and others.

Avatar, you are wasting your time. There is no problem. It's in his very closed mind. All the "evidence" he claims is of his own making. Fanatics are often that way. When the facts don't suit, make 'em so they do.

JB, you won't respond because you can't. You have no facts other than your opinion. You are entitled to it and you can enjoy it. What you can't do is defend it with anything other than your pompous replies. What a waste.

JB, I went to your web site and there's nothing of substance there. Are there helicopter flights - yes. Are they real or made up? Only you know for sure. How low are they? Nothing you document. How loud are they? Again, all of this is information that it appears you have made up to support you own belief. Good luck in your useless quest. A wise man once said, " Pick your battles wisely". Too bad you never heard him.

Consult my website and archived forums and you'll find responses to most related questions.
Bye now, gotta go...

Thanks for the tip, JB. I will go there and see if all of my questions are answered.

Hopefully, you have a list of all the actions you have taken to stop the noisy helocopters.
